Sacred Heart Diet Tips

The Sacred Heart Diet is also known as the Miracle Soup Diet, requires a lot of dedication to achieve a great result. The diet will limit your intake of calories and you will have few foods to choose from, hence, it should not be followed for more than two weeks. Here are some tips for Sacred Heart Diet.

1. The guideline for the diet.

You will eat soup with just one food group for each day.

Day 1: Fruit and soup.

Day 2: Vegetable and soup.

Day 3: Both vegetables and fruits with soup.

Day 4: Skim milk with three bananas and the soup.

Day 5: You can eat unlimited quantities of soup and meat to get sufficient protein.

Day 6: Beef, vegetables with soup.

Day 7: Wild rice and soup.

The drinks that are permitted in this diet include skim milk, coffee, water and unsweetened juice.

2. Vary your meals.

Variety is one of the best spices. Although you can only have fruit on Day 1, you could choose from a variety of fruits that have different tastes. For example, you can choose from tomato, peach and avocado, which are all fruits but offer your completely different tastes. Similarly, you can consume meat in the form of steaks, chunks, as well as patties for burgers. Try to use the variety of each food group to keep your everyday meals interesting. Also, you can vary your cooking techniques that can keep the dishes fresh, for instance, steaming, boiling and sautéing.

3. Keep yourself hydrated.

The soup you consume every day is in high sodium content, thus drinking plenty of water is necessary to combat it. Health care professionals warn that too much sodium intake will cause fluid retention and increase your blood pressure. It can be seen from the guidelines that fruits and vegetables from Day 1 to Day 3 are water-rich, however, on the other days, especially the last day; therefore, you really need to drink plenty of fresh water. Please always bring some water with you as well.

4. Keep the diet foods portable.

It should be noticed that fresh vegetables, fruits and our particular type of soup will not be available readily at your workplace or restaurants. So planning ahead is very important. You can take a gallon of the prepared soup with you to wherever you plan to eat the diet meals and keep it in the refrigerator. You could also keep your desk stocked with plenty of fruits.

5. Get support from family or friends.

If you are on the diet alone, sometimes you might feel left out when the other family members or your friends go out to eat enjoyful foods. To avoid that, you can ask one or more of them to join you. If you could make a team of dieting, all of you will stay motivated and commiserate if others are unsympathetic towards your effort. In addition, your friend may have better ideas concerning how to make tasty smoothies on Day 1 or how to make rice stew on Day 7.
