Again, the key is to keep your diet simple, especially for the first or two weeks in the diet plan. Avoid consuming too much carbohydrates and eat only a few foods. Generally, a typical carb diet program recommends not to eat more than 20 carbohydrate every day for the first two weeks of the program.

3. Drink some water.

Because you are on a diet that is high in protein and low in carbohydrates, you will put extra strain on the kidneys. Your kidneys may keep overworked because they have to get rid of the nitrogen content found in those high-protein foods. You should drink at least two liters of water per day to flush the kidneys. Also, you may want to drink diet green tea or other low carb drinks so that you can have some taste as well as further increase fluid content.

4. Read the nutrition labels.

Although most products come with nutrition labels suggesting a certain number of carbohydrates, sometimes they might be misleading. When you examine more closely at some labels on foods, you may find that the serving size is usually for two or even more. It is helpful if you could buy pre-made foods in single serving so that you know the exact carbohydrate you are consuming. You need to make sure that most of the foods to be raw or natural on your no carbohydrate diet to avoid consuming excess carbohydrates.
